EMERGENCY FIRST AID  Who should attend?    All workers whether employer or employee should know how to treat a casualty with basic first aid in the event of an accident.

This one day  course covers information gained in the classroom and simulated practical use in the aims and principals of First Aid.
Prompt action by a first aider at an incident can make the difference between a rapid and complete recovery by the casualty and prolonged distress and the possibility of the condition worsening. This course teaches basic first aid techniques and what to do in the event of an accident.

Content

• Managing an incident i.e. Shock-Burns-Eye Injuries-Head Injuries-Heart Attack-Open Chest Wounds- Poisons-Crush injuries etc
• Dealing with an unconscious casualty
• Clearing an obstructed airway
• Resuscitation and Cardiac Compression
• Internal and external bleeding
• Abdominal injuries
• Fractures

Paediatric First Aid Courses are also available for Parents, Grand Parents Carers and Childminders of babies and children up to the age of 8 years of age.
Course content is similar to Emergency First Aid, but is adapted to take into consideration the size & age of the child or baby.
If required these courses can be held for groups of people i.e. Mother & Baby Clubs, or for smaller groups of people at a trainees home
