Equipment and Venue Requirements
Venue: Warm, well lit room with sufficient seating, power point(s), suitable area for practical exercises, OHP and screen, Flipboard & paper, washroom & toilet facilities nearby
Trainees: boilersuit, gloves, protective footwear
Examples of typical items to practice safe lifting: some suggestions are listed below:-
e.g.25kg and 50kg sack
25ltr and 40ltr drums (filled)
200 litre drums, 1 filled & 1 empty
Extending ladder, 4 mtr beam
2.5mtr gatepost/2mtr log
4 buckets, lifting stick
4 concrete blocks, 2 pitchforks
2 straw bales, large calor gas
cylinder, axe, pick-axe, sledgehammer, tractor with front weights, tractor and trailed PTO driven machine, shovels (1 long and 1 short handled), wheelbarrow loaded with sharp sand.
